Perlite is the generic name for a naturally occurring siliceous volcanic rock, which we take into our new a modern factory in Poland.  Here we are manufacturing the filter perlite in one of our special kilns at temperatures of around 1100o C, whereby the original raw material is expanding up to 20 times its original volume, and we achieve a new product : a white, sterile granular with many properties and many areas of use.

Especially around the equipment of the company Perlipol, the particles which are manufactured are in a special form and structure, which means that you can get a filter cake with infinitive myriads of microscopic channels, which achieves an optimum flow rates and clarity of the liquid. This results to the following:


  • High ability of filtration
  • Optimum flow rates
  • Colour of the perlite is white
  • Very low density  140-170 kg/m3 i.e., 1 bag of Perlite (14/17 kg replaces 1  bag of other types filter-aids, like kiselgur  (23 – 28  kg or more)
  • Perlite filtering qualities is an a morph material, without crystalline particles, i.e., no lung injuries, noallergy, no skin irritation ,when using our products and qualities.
  • pH value:    6.5 –7.5 – measured in tap water

Coarse: Mean particle size 55µm - 47µm

Medium: Mean particle size 42µm - 38µm

Fine: Mean particle size 37µm - 17µm


Pelite is a natural volcanic mineral, mined in opencast mines in different parts of the world in the form of a grey stone. After preliminary treatment, perlite ore undergoes the process of expanding, i.e. short influence of high temperature (about 1000C). Then the water contained in the grains evaporates rapidly, causing expansion of the material. The grain expands even 20 times. The final product reminds roasted corn in terms of structure and appearance and in terms of the chemical composition it reminds glass. Porous structure of perlite determines its perfect insulation properties. PERLIPOL offers different fractions of perlite, as well as hydrophobized Hydroperls perlite. Hydrophobic perlite serves as an absorbent, but is also applied wherever the water absorption of perlite is undesirable.

Grades avaialble:

EP200: Agricultural grade used to promote aeration, influence plant development, protect plant roots form damage, and helps prevent water evaporation.

EP180:In most of cases it is used in mortars, but it is mainly applied for heat protection flooring levelling mixtures. There are more applications, e.g. shapes, any types of fireproof material, vitamin carrier in forage, thermal insulation in vessel coatings and filling empty spaces in ceramic bricks.

EP150: In most of cases it is applied at the manufacturing of cement and gypsum plaster, but also in other mortars. There are more applications, e.g. vitamin carrier in forage, thermal insulation in vessel coatings and filling empty spaces in ceramic bricks.


Vermiculite is a hydrated magnesium aluminum sheet silicate mineral closely related to mica and has all of the thermal and chemical resistance mica is known for. When subjected to heat, vermiculite expands and forms particles that are revered for being:

  • Lightweight
  • Incombustible
  • Compressible
  • Highly absorbent, soaking up to three times its volume in water
  • Non-reactive
  • Highly effective in cation exchange capacity
